Born in Kirkland Lake in Northern Ontario, moved to Calgary where, after a long career

in the newspaper business, culminating as Composing Room Manager of the Calgary

Herald, decided to pursue a lifetime desire to become a professional artist.

A long-time member of the Calgary Sketch Club, past member of The Federation of

Canadian Artists, and The Group, enjoyed a long association with many of Calgary’s

artists and have been involved in workshops and seminars with many of Canada’s finest



With a representational yet impressionistic style, I paint in watercolour, ink and wash

and now mostly in Acrylic. The rich colours of northern Ontario often influence my work.

My travels in Canada, Nova Scotia and the southwestern United States have forever

influenced my work.


For several years I displayed my art at Gainsborough Galleries and had many shows

with fine Canadian artists including Robert Wood.
